It is no news that Dubai has evolved into a fully-fledged fashion capital for the Middle East and SE Asia market. Perhaps this goes some way towards explaining why there has been an upsurge in support from key international figures, such as Karl Lagerfeld and Vogue Italia’s Franca Sozzani in promoting the fashion scene there. Dubai has become an important showcase for global product launches and marketing events like Chanel’s cruise show, Swarovski’s couture exhibition and Marc Jacobs’ international launch of his new scent, Decadence.
After Milan, Dubai has been on my shopping wish list since a while now and my outright fashionista childhood friend Prakriti has so far been my eyes and ears there. A passionate professional, feminist, mom, traveler and artist, Prak epitomizes today’s gen-next women who strongly believe in maximizing their potential. (No clue how she does it!)
Today she shares how she is beating the heat in Dubai with this effortless flowy look:
In her own words…
As a working mum, weekdays can be unforgiving! come weekend, don’t we all like to just dress down, put our feet up and have a ball with our little angels . This Saturday as we soak in the morning sun at our neighborhood boulangerie, I keep it comfortable with a pair of Fluid Culottes Jeans from Guess and a crop top from the same label. This pair is a great contemporary take on a jeans - fun, flirty, elegant and literally breathable (note the slits). Throw in a pair of flash blue sunnies and I am ready to take on the sun!
Thanks Prakriti for coloring my Haute Palette with beautiful strokes of your style.
