Sorry for being MIA for a few days. September is just so overwhelming for reasons more than one.
All moms with kids in grade school know how nerve-racking this back-to-school thing can get! Right from shopping for school supplies and fall basics, finishing school paper work, to bringing kids back to fall/winter routine of going to bed by 8 pm, while also squeezing in the regular grocery shopping, laundry and meal planning in the same weekend can get arduous, exhausting and physically+mentally jarring and this requires a huge shift from summer low gear to school year high gear.
Also, since it was a long weekend we could not resist the temptation to squeeze in a quick trip to Whistler BC where we did all things touristy to celebrate the natural beauty of the province in fall. (live music, gondola rides, farmers market, food and wine).
I love staying in touch with my Indian roots and teaching my kids about my culture as they are learning and assimilating the American ways of doing things, so we also squeezed in celebrating an Indian festival (Ganesh Chaturthi) in the same weekend.
Phew! Thankfully its a shorter work-week and I am always looking on the pink side of life . So I added this gorgeous pink (borderline burgundy) J Crew wool skirt and these cute Fendi Sunnies to my Haute Palette and I cant wait to review it for all you beautiful ladies looking to add something cute to your Haute Palette this fall.
This skirt hits a couple of inches above the knees but is still is not too short for work. It is true to size (for reference I am 5 ft 1 '' and I am wearing a petite 0). The soft wool/nylon fabric makes it a perfect piece for Fall (which you can easily take into winter). Pair it with boots, tippy sweater and a oversize coat and you are ready for winter cocktail party. PSST! J Crew. also has a blazer in the same print selling like hotcakes.
Since the weather is still mild, I wore it with my cute Kate Spade blouse with polka dots. The oversize bow makes it a perfect feminine foil to my cute skirt. Sadly it is out of stock but I will sure point you to something similar when I find it.
I have always been a fan of round oversize sunglasses, however the minute I spotted these cute Fendi Cat-Eyes Sunglasses at Nordstrom, I fell in love with them. As you can see the tipped-up corners add a saucy look to rounded sunglasses. Available is 4 colors these sunglasses are every woman's wardrobe must-haves. P.S. I have always wanted to add Fendi to my Haute Palette.
Finally also added this cute Kate Spade bag to my collection as the feisty pink adds a splash of color to any outfit making it fun and flirty.
