Yessssssssssss! I finally found someone to watch the kids this Saturday night. So my husband and I decided to sneak out for a movie + dinner night and watched Sully. This is a film that gets your attention from start to end. Not here to review the movie, but must say that, chills ran down my spine when I imagined myself in a situation like that . Come to think of it, how many times have you been in a situation where the captain says "brace for impact" and your plane water lands and you find yourself STILL ALIVE! I am sure it must have been such a powerful experience for folks who lived it in real life (No spoiler alert here as everybody has read about the fateful day). But from movie perspective, I bet nobody could have portrayed Sully better than Tom Hanks and, Eastwoods's flawless direction is all about slow, thoughtful meander of serious people taking their time to chew over what’s important to them.
Coming to what I wore, I knew I did not have to dress for embracing any impact but had to weather the perennial chill in the theater for 2 hours that necessitates keeping it casual, comfy but classy. Basically not falling into either side of spectrum of OTT to sweatshirt dressing. I had to be a little more creative as we decided to go for late dinner after. I wanted a laid-back, naturally pretty look , comfortable for a relaxing night of snuggling and movie-watching!
So I wore this cute Banana Republic tie neck shirt dress that was a perfect combination of comfy and chic and the blue color lets you transition gorgeously from day to night. The top runs a little large so I recommend you size down a bit.
I paired this with my super comfy yet classy Ivanka Trump pumps, perfect combo for dinner date :). I would totally pair it with my boots and coat once it starts getting chillier. Finally my cute Kate Spade Bag and my favorite Fendi Sunnies added oomph to my whole look. I recommend bringing along a jean jacket or light sweater as it can get chillier towards the end or even better have your husband/special someone wrap their arms around you with some xoxo!
