Its not just Victoria Beckham who is supposed to look stylish while running errands with kids.
I know there are days when you just cannot get out of sweatpants/yoga pants and that is what you wear for practically everything- chores, workout, running errands, dropping kids off, car wash and even for coffee with a friend. But then when this sudden realization hits, that at the coffee place you are surrounded by Kate Middleton and Sarah Jessica Parker clones, with their impeccable hair and makeup and style chops, you wish you disappeared in thin air. That was almost going to happen to me last Saturday when I was planning to step out to run errands wearing my gym pants. It was just fate that my daughter spilled something on my clothes and that forced me to get out of my ugly pants. Very surprisingly at the grocery store that eve, a nice lady asked me if I was (such and such ) fashion blogger as she had seen my posts and pictures. I would have denied that out-right, had I been in my sweatpants and would have dug a hole to bury myself in it.
Thankfully in the spirit of staying comfy yet stylish I decided to pull out my cute Banana Republic raw cut tweed jacket that is perfect for moderately chilly air right now. This is truly your everyday jacket and goes well with anything you wear. I would say though, it runs a tad bit large but the tie closure makes up for it. It also leaves room for some layering in future. I let the flaps open like a collar to accentuate the black piping as it was not too cold that day, but for colder nights I would close it and accentuate the whole look with a fuchsia or tangerine blanket scarf.
I wore it with my favorite super comfy Loft ponte pants with stretchable fabric and elasticized waist . With back-yoke and seamed details, this pant looks formal but PSST!!! this would be comfier than your yoga pants (and they are on sale right now). My cute and dainty Banana Republic blouse is a perfect work and beyond piece that is in my current favorites list.
Finally, it is my signature style to add a pop of color to everything I wear as colorspire me. So I put in the mix my staple Kate Spade bag, cute fuchsia BCBG pumps (low on stock) and my signature Fendi sunnies.
Ladies whatever keeps you comfy, yoga pant or tweed jacket/ponte pant, Be Bold, Be fierce and Make a Statement and give that Spice Girl some stiff competition.
Btw all the clothes come in petite sizes and I have recommended alternatives for items low on stock.
