Why should only little girls wear cute stripe skirts. Though my daughter looks darling in hers! But don’t we love Eva Longoria for sporting the cutest stripe skirts ever. I have always been super obsessed with stripes. Stripes are not just style trend but style-stables. Some people fear that horizontal stripes make them look wider (totally not true!!), stripes are fun and exciting, injecting a little bit of punk rock into an everyday outfit. The wider the stripe, the bolder the statement.
So while scouring the internet for cute pieces I could mix and match with pieces in my closet, I stumbled upon this gorgeous skirt from Mod Cloth which looked as cute as my daughter’s skirts.
This cotton-blend skirt boasts a bold black and vanilla pattern, which allows you to mix-and-match it with a variety of tops. With just the right amount of poof the skirt moves beautifully as you walk, thanks to the fabric choice. The elastic band accentuates the small of my waist for that lovely dedicate look. Keep in mind-Size S in Mod Cloth equates with XS. ( I am wearing S). It's a high quality material that has a little stretch to it- not a lot. I am yet to find a skirt this darling for the price I paid (PSSTT!!! <$45). The skirt is so versatile, I would not shy away from pairing it with wacky colors and silhouettes (go find a cute yellow polka dot or a red tie neck or pink ruffle blouse and you ll be in the most darling outfit ever).
I paired it with my new Ann Taylor pleated bib front blouse that adds modern texture and play to the outfit. The blouse is a little sheer so make sure you wear a cami beneath. The mandarin collar and the sleeve-cuffs have knife pleat that renders a gorgeous sophistication.
Slipped in my cute Ann Taylor pumps and sported my Tory Burch sunnies and here I am ready in my most darling ensemle ever.
So Ladies, Go Bold with Stripes and Make a Cute Statement!
